Jennifer school
The Jennifer School is a small Waldorf inspired school for children in the slums of Mohakali in Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital. The school was founded by students of the Christopher School in 2004. The Jennifer school is free and open to all, enabling the poor children to receive an education. The children attend school about 4 hours a day, and the schedule consist of subjects such as English, painting and music. Currently, there are between 40 and 45 children at the school, mostly between the ages of 5 - 11 years old.
The school is run by the non-profit association Youth Reaching Out, which consists of a small group of students that also started the Jennifer school. The school is financed by voluntary donations from Swedish school classes, resulting in an exchange between countries and by private persons. All donations are received with great gratitude.
