During the autumn of 2009, the SOFIA Association sent 10 trainees to Bolivia, India and the Dominican Republic. We also have 5 trainees in Sweden, from South Africa and Brazil.

To participate in our traineeship you should be between the ages of 18-35 and preferably have experience in an anthroposophist activities e.g. Waldorf School, organic farming, healing pedagogy and basic knowledge of English and Spanish.

As a trainee, you will pay a fee of 5,000 SEK and will become a member of the SOFIA Association. During the training period, SOFIA covers all travel expenses, insurance, food and accommodation.

In practice, one month of preparatory work is completed in Sweden prior to departure. This introductory work includes a two-week language course and two preparatory workshops, the first of which is organized by the SOFIA Association and allows departing and returning trainees to meet each other and the second is held at SIDA's Learning Center in Härnösand.

After the training period, follow-up work and informational activities are completed in Sweden. The structure of the work is determined through consultation with the internship supervisor and can consist of, for example, lectures, visiting schools, leading workshops, producing a visual exhibition, writing articles, etc.

The final date for next year's applicants is April 1^st, 2010
